Both fighters use this keyboard layout. In local Versus, choose Player 1 or Player 2 under Keyboard before starting. A single connected controller operates the other player. With two controllers, each operates its corresponding player. A shared keyboard cannot independently control both players with identical keys.
Left stick / D-pad: move · X: horizontal · Y: vertical · B: kick · A: throw · LB: guard · RB: guard impact · LT: quick movement · Start: pause
Hold RT + Y: special · RT + X: EX special · RT + B: Roman Cancel. Release RT for ordinary attacks.
EX specials spend 25 meter for extra damage and brief startup invulnerability. Roman Cancels spend 50 meter to interrupt an attack after its first eight simulation frames. Meter builds when you hit, take damage, or block. Training resets with a full meter.
Enter guard just before contact for a Perfect Parry. Its four-frame window does not reopen while guard stays held. Throws still beat guard.
Horizontal strikes catch lateral movement. Step around vertical attacks. After a slash connects, press J again near the end of the swing to chain J → J → J. The second slash can also lead into K. Blocked or missed strikes cannot start a Target Combo. With Target Combos disabled, the original horizontal chain remains available. Guard impact repels an incoming strike during its brief opening. Throws beat guard; step away or interrupt them. Heavy finishers can drive an opponent over the boundary.
